Tuesday 23 April is World Book and Copyright Day – a UNESCO-recognised event that also celebrates Strasbourg as the World Book Capital of 2024. The world would be infinitely poorer without the cultural, developmental and intellectual achievements made possible by books, not to mention the creative achievements protected by the concept of copyright. Show some love for books: find out more at https://www.unesco.org/en/days/world-book-and-copyright.

And since 23 April is also the anniversary of William Shakespeare’s birth (and death!) it is also United Nations English Language Day – one of six official days to recognize the importance of the six official languages of the UN. Get the fascinating facts and the lowdown at https://www.un.org/en/observances/english-language-day.

Have a wonderfully wordy day!
